Nestled in the heart of the bustling city, Taj Mahal Tea House offers an escape with its quaint and warm interiors that transports one to a serene world. As I stepped inside the courtyard leading to the indoor seating, wooden tables and cane chairs welcomed me. Once inside, the sight of vintage teapots on rustic shelves, chessboards from a bygone era, gilded mirrors and lace curtains allowing thin rays instantly soothed my senses.

For the tea enthusiast, of course, it all comes down to the good ol’ chai! Traditional brews like Kashmiri Saffron Chai Lemon Tea and Masala Tea hobnob with experimental brews like Malabari Coconut Vanilla Tea, Elderflower Green Tea and Muskmelon Nectar. Get your Darjeeling Tea high here as well! Their menu boasts an array of nibbles like sandwiches, samosas, salads and specially curated tea platter (which I had and felt full quickly!). Seasonal menus can surprise you as I found savoring a Spicy Virgin Daiquiri that satiated me just right.

It is largely quiet with no loud music and that makes for a delightful spot for someone like me who loves to read and converse. The establishment also houses a tea-shop wherein one can pick an array of black, white and green tea. Artisanal blends are also on the menu.

Got friends or family in? Doubly perfect 😊 Go on, embrace a comforting afternoon indulgence.
